I bought these in 9 and they are the perfect fit. I like a chunky shoe and I appreciate that these don't make my wide-ish feet look like they are spilling out the sides.I love the adjustable straps, though I prefer when they are super fitted, so I do have some extra strap hanging off the ends. The footbed is very comfortable and the bottoms of my feet never feel sweaty or like they are sliding. The bottoms of the shoes are very sturdy and I can imagine they do well on most terrains (I don't hike).I have had a hard time not wearing these shoes all summer. Even with summer dresses, these give a trendy casual/sporty/dad-sneaker kind of vibe which is just overall comfortable and chic. I wear them all day at work (I'm a children's librarian, and walk/bend a lot) and these never feel uncomfortable. I own these in both sesame and pure white (so so so cute), and I even own the ampsole version with the platform bottom in a nude pink shade (they are just as comfortable, but a little more fashionable). They are very adjustable so you can loosen them for socks or for more comfort or tighten them for scrambling on rough ground. Super versatile for the patio, beach or a walk in the wilderness. You can wade in water with them and they quickly dry out. I purchased these in preparation for a trip oversees, and after wearing the first pair, I purchased a second in a different color, to coordinate with different outfits. I walked all over Israel in these, over a variety of terrains, indoors and out, and I've been wearing them whenever weather permits and the occasion allows. They are probably the most comfortable shoes I own, including high-end athletic shoes that I wore on a different trip. My size in sandals ranges from 5-6; I ordered these in 5 and 6 but decided on the larger size because the longer shoe provided a bit more protection of my toes outdoors. I also have Tevas in the original style, but I prefer these for activities that require more walking, because the wider base offers greater support and balance.
