Review: Finding Gobi was one of my favorites - Being a dog lover, it was a lovely story of a dog's allegiance to a runner from the UK. Of course, I cried, too, through parts of the book.
Review: This kept my attention until I was done reading - I love reading this book every minute I would recommend this to somebody that really likes to have a heartwarming story.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Story, but

I like this dog very much and this is a man who needs a dog. That said... The author went into China after his dog ignorant and unprepared and, seemingly, lacking curiosity about the the country. So much of what he experienced would have been easier for him if he'd educated himself ahead, but he didn't really know where he was going when he arrived at the race. At the end, I'm very happy to say, he does know where he has been and that is the nature of real travel, I think. I ended up feeling that Gobi is one of the luckiest -- and most lovable -- dogs in the world, but her owner needs some work. Gobi is definitely up to the task. It's a strong story but the writing doesn't live up to it.
