Not uncommon for jewelry makers to do this, Overall it keeps their overhead down without having to lower the quality of the actual jewelry itself, so not mad at it. Fortunate the clasps are very easy to replace with sterling, and very cheap if you want to take them to a jeweler. So I still love the bracelets I wear 4 out of 6 of them everyday still, With the exception of changing out the class for real silver I've had no problem with them and I still love them. It was very well-made and when I pulled it out, it had a little black box with a type of cover on it that actually sort of compressed the six or so bracelets that were in there. I was impressed with the packaging, and the bracelets were dainty, shiny, and very beautiful.
