I installed it with the film facing up towards the sun and expect it to molt off over time. I removed as much as possible by hand.

Just as described. See my review of the polycarbonate panel for greenhouses . It’s really tough, but pliable enough and seals well. I used these two products in connection with the greenhouse repair tape and the results have been great on a 3/12 slope.
