There are alignment screws that move the reticle pattern inside the sight, left, right, up and down. Pick a object about 1/4 mile away and look thru your eyepiece and focus until object is in clear view. Align the reticle pattern on the sight using the alignment screws, so that when you look into the eyepiece you see the reticle pattern centered on the object. This is easier to accomplish during daylight hours. **Q: What advantages does this finder have over the traditional TelRad? That doesn't work. The red dot is way too brighter than any star making it impossible to point a star.
