Lovely soft material, head doesn't overheat with it in. Performance- didn't overheat, didn't get sunburn through it on a hot, bright day. I have Large head and it for perfectly with no blowing off in stringer winds. I didn't end up uncomfortable wearing it for 12 hours while climbing 10 peaks in the lake District, so it did what it wanted it to.
