Review: Ca-AKG - 60 x 550mg Capsules - Very happy, sleep much better and wake up full of energy... Review: Calcium Alpha-Ketoglutarate...does it work? - Having spent quite a bit of time in my retirement studying products that could slow down the ageing process, I was naturally keen to give this a go! The manufacturer makes some bold claims like.......... *"PROVIDES CELLULAR ENERGY. by stimulating energy production in the body, a vital component of the Kreb’s cycle – the process that creates energy from food. *INDUCES AUTOPHAGY. Ca-AKG facilitates removal of dysfunctional cells, cell parts. Autophagy tends to decrease with age. *BONE & MUSCLE SUPPORT. Ca-AKG is also a source of the essential amino acids needed to make collagen, which could help bone and muscle health. If you look this up there are other possible anti ageing effects too, so being a UK brand and also vegan (vital for me) i am looking forward to seeing how it could effect me over the coming weeks. With the dose being 2 capsules a day this is a 1 month supply so at £21 a bottle could work out a little pricy if it fails to deliver as suggested. I will update this review once i can establish any noticeable changes but it is still early days. With no taste easy to take and swallow and no bad effects so far happy to rate as a 4 * supplement until a full review later of outcome.... ## Features - ✔️PROVIDES CELLULAR ENERGY. At 33, I'm particularly focused on staying healthy and slowing down the aging process. Ca-AKG, or Calcium Alpha-Ketoglutarate, is known for its potential benefits in cellular energy production and autophagy, the process by which the body removes damaged cells, which tends to decline with age. Each serving of two capsules provides 1100mg of Ca-AKG, which is the recommended daily dose. The capsules are a bit large but easy enough to swallow, and there's no unpleasant taste. I take these supplements alongside others aimed at longevity, and I've noticed that they help maintain my energy levels and overall well-being. While it's hard to pinpoint exactly how much of the benefits come from Ca-AKG alone, the science behind it is compelling. Ca-AKG plays a role in the Krebs cycle, which is crucial for cellular energy production, and it's also involved in synthesizing collagen, which supports bone and muscle health. Despite the premium price, I believe it's worth it for the quality and potential health benefits long-term. ## Frequently Bought Together - Ca-AKG - 60 x 550mg Capsules - Ultra Pure & High Strength Calcium Alpha Ketoglutarate - Zero Additives - UK Made (60 Count (Pack of 1)) - Magtein® Magnesium – 120 Capsules – High Strength 2100mg – Pullulan Capsules – UK Made to GMP & HACCP Standards – Zero Additives - Vitamin D3 + K2 – 4000IU + 100UG – Whole Food & Plant-Derived – CULTAVIT® D3 (Cholecalciferol) – K2VITAL® K2 MK-7 - UK Made Supplement - Zero Additives (60 Capsule Bottle) (60 Capsule Bottle) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/620660718-ca-akg-calcium-alpha-ketoglutarate-550mg-60-capsules-uk-made](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/620660718-ca-akg-calcium-alpha-ketoglutarate-550mg-60-capsules-uk-made) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
