If you have a 70" mat it is perfect. My is 71". I really wouldn't even take off that much. With that said, I am a regular Bikram Yoga practitioner & teacher. I sweat A LOT!!! Even thought it was an inch to short I used it. It stayed in place the entire class & absorbed all my sweat!!! I love the material; It is soft but not slippery. I did wash it in cold and dried on low. It did not shrink or curl up on the ends.
