Stick on film stops scratches etc but doesn't stop wear on hinges as I've discovered to my cost. Gave this to son and expecting him to complain that it made laptop bulky etc but NO. He loved it and fact he has to can keep it on permanently is fine. It is solid, screen actually clips in to case with an audible click so v secure. Only minor issue is if you can't use M16 on charge with this fully set up as it's got a rear charging socket. One happy accident prone 18yr old and less worried dad.
