It was able to hold and protect my glass water bottle the whole trip. Also accidentally spilled water the outside as I was filling up my water bottle and it dried pretty quick. The 2 strap options made it versatile for how you want to carry you water bottle. I did use the two pockets a few times, and it fit my cellphone. However, to quickly take things out of the pockets I did find it easier to take things out of a purse. The material seems durable, but adds some resistance when putting thing into or pulling stuff out of it, especially the pockets.
