Review: Works as intended - I got a new Weber 22" grill for Father's Day, and immediately I started shopping for one of these accessories. I knew about the Vortex brand, but I went with this particular one based on the high reviews it got and its pricing. I figured if the quality of the stainless steel and welding were good then why pay $20 more for a name brand? When I received and examined it I was not disappointed. Good quality all around. It does what its supposed to, which is concentrate the heat upwards through the top opening. I've only used it once, but it seems it will be pretty durable. For $28, the value is definitely there.

Great value in that it did not cost as much as the original Vortex and as far as what is said that the Vortex can do, this divise does as good. It heats my Weber kettle very well and cooks chicken to perfection. It is very durable and holds up great. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a Weber kettle.

**Q: Anybody use this on a char griller akorn jr.?**
A: It should work fine on any charcoal grill

**Q: Do I use lighter fluid to ignite charcoal, or newspaper like a chimney lighting device?**
A: i used my chimney and dropped the coals into it.  never thought about using it like a chimney it should work going to try it next time.

**Q: Will this fit an 18 inch grill?**
A: This WILL NOT fit a 18" Weber Kettle Grill. It is 3/4 inch to tall.  I unfortunately thought I ordered a 22" but ordered a 18" Weber.

**Q: I would like to use this in my basic charcoal grill. What is the width and height of the vortex?**
A: I don't recall the actual sizes but it tells you on there somewhere. It works the best in a kettle style grill like the original Weber. I tried it in my Aussie and its not deep enough to cook properly.
