The FS FS 1400/2-LR 32 Guide Rail (55 -Inch) was designed specifically for use with Festool Routers and the LR 32 Hole Drilling System to construct cabinets using the European frameless 32mm system for shelf pins and hardware. Also, use the LR 32 System for line boring, or setting shelf pins in panels up to any length. Festool FS Guide rails are available in eight different lengths from 32 -Inch to 197 -Inch (800 - 5000 mm), providing the right rail for every application. For cutting applications, the integrated splinter guard aligns perfectly to your cut line, saving set up time and serving as protection against tear out, on cuts both with the grain and across. Guide rails can be easily connected using the accessory guide rail connectors for a rigid, secure and continuous connection. Guide rails make work easier by taking the tool to the work, and save time and money by eliminating laborious measurements, rework and wasted material. Use the FS 1400/2-LR 32 Guide Rail (55 -Inch) with the Festool Plunge cut saw to cut material up to 49 -Inch. Connect rails using Festool Guide Rail Connectors to make limitless cuts.

The indexing system allows proper placement of the shelf pins holes space at 32mm, and the 35mm holes for the Euro style hinges. Please note you will need to buy the LR32 system or many of the components, this rail only serves as the guide/indexing device for the LR32mm system. The rail can also be used with one of the Festool track saws or routers to allow precision cuts, dadoes, rabbets, etc.... To use the rail with one of the Festool routers you will need a Festool router/rail accessory. The rail will work with the track saws right out of the box, no adapters required. If you are considering the Festool line of equipment, note that the track saw comes with a 55" rail, but it is not this rail, typically called the "holey" rail. Some retailers will allow you to swap the standard rail for the holey rail for a small price difference. I've tried Makita guide rails when I first had their track saw, I quickly had issues and upgraded to Festool. Their precision is worth the extra money if you can afford it, everything they produce is very accurate and reliable. I purchased this guide rail to use with the LR32 system, had I thought about buying that system when I bought my tracksaw I probably would have gotten this rail instead but honestly having more rails never hurts anyway. The rail comes packaged in a cardboard box with it floating in cardboard which really helps protect it all around. Soon as I set the rail up to my guide rail square I was cutting perfectly straight cuts no issues.

In addition to being a standard 1400mm track, this model indexes holes for the 32mm shelf pin system. No more moving a smaller jig and indexing pin. If you have a Festool router, you can purchase the LR 32mm system to work with this track, or buy one of the numerous adapters to use your existing plunge router (I use my Porter Cable 6931) This really speeds up production of making cabinets.
