Thin straps convert to crossbody style or over shoulder. Some extra straps with hardware are attached to inside of bag--not sure if they were for keys, or to create a short handle style bag, but I didn't want any extra weight to carry and I simply snipped them off. The rest of the hardware, clasps, zipper pulls, etc. are attractive and useful. This purse is the correct size for a small wallet and a checkbook and a few other necessities, like cell phone and even a Kindle.
