Designed for use in skimmer baskets, it requires precise pH control and liquid chlorine to function effectively. Ideal for professional pool managers and enthusiasts seeking hassle-free, chemical-free CYA reduction with a satisfaction guarantee. ## Description GreenStory Global Cyanuric Acid (CYA) Remover is a 1 lb filter pouch that sits in the skimmer basket. It is filled with carbon and a proprietary resin that absorb CYA from the water as the pool circulates. It is not a pour-in chemical reducer. You do not drain the pool. When CYA is back in range, throw the pouch away. This listing is for freshwater chlorine pools and spas. It will not work with saltwater or salt-chlorine systems. Balance pH between 7.2 and 8.0 before the pouch goes in and keep it there. Take trichlor pucks and any stabilizer out of the skimmer. If you still need chlorine, use liquid chlorine or unstabilized shock at the opposite end of the pool from the skimmer. Run the pump 24 hours a day on low RPM. The product works by contact time, so the whole pool has to pass through the pouch. Keep the skimmer basket clean. If debris cakes on the pouch, rinse it or flip it. Check CYA after 1 week with a high-range kit such as Taylor, LaMotte, or AquaChek. Cheap strips often cannot read levels above about 300 ppm, so it can look like nothing happened. Expect about 15 ppm per week when flow and chemistry stay in range. A meaningful drop usually takes 1 to 2 weeks. Follow the steps above. If you do and CYA does not come down, contact us. The listing guarantee is a full refund when the directions are followed. Brand names for test kits are used only so you can match a kit that actually reads high CYA. ## Features - NO-DRAIN CYA REMOVER FOR POOLS AND SPAS: 1 lb cyanuric acid remover pouch for the skimmer basket. Carbon and resin absorb CYA as water circulates. No drain, no dump, no pour-in chemical reducer. - LOWERS STABILIZER SO CHLORINE CAN WORK: CYA reducer for pool and spa water with high cyanuric acid. Typical drop is about 15 ppm per week when the pump is running and pH stays in range. Ends the drain-and-refill cycle on freshwater systems. - SET THE WATER BEFORE YOU START: pH must be 7.2 to 8.0 before the pouch goes in and must stay there. Use only liquid chlorine or unstabilized shock. Remove pucks and anything else that adds CYA. High chlorine and fresh stabilizer will stall the filter. - RUN THE PUMP AND KEEP THE BASKET CLEAR: Run the pump 24/7 on low RPM so the whole pool passes through the pouch. Keep debris off the CYA filter. If the surface loads up, rinse it or flip it. Contact time is what drops the reading. - TEST AFTER 1 WEEK. NOT FOR SALTWATER: Recheck CYA with a high-range kit. Levels above about 300 ppm often will not register on a cheap strip. Freshwater chlorine pools and spas only. Will not work on salt systems. Follow these steps or contact us. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0CN2DNJZR | | Best Sellers Rank | #68,852 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ( See Top 100 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ) #9 in Pool DE Filters | | Brand | Generic | | Brand Name | Generic | | Customer Reviews | 3.3 out of 5 stars 155 Reviews | | Item Form | Pouch | | Item Type Name | Pool & Spa Filter | | Manufacturer | Green Story | | Manufacturer Part Number | CYA-1.0 | | Model Number | CYA-1.0 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Product Benefits | Maintains Appropriate CYA Levels in Pool | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Generic - **Item Form:** Pouch - **Number of Items:** 1 - **Number of Packs:** 1 - **Product Benefits:** Maintains Appropriate CYA Levels in Pool ## Images ![Cyanuric Acid CYA Remover for Pool & Spa, Skimmer Filter 1 lb - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51c-3FuZBwL.jpg) ![Cyanuric Acid CYA Remover for Pool & Spa, Skimmer Filter 1 lb - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51Hsf-bL31L.jpg) ![Cyanuric Acid CYA Remover for Pool & Spa, Skimmer Filter 1 lb - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61PcGNnxLAL.jpg) ![Cyanuric Acid CYA Remover for Pool & Spa, Skimmer Filter 1 lb - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71KwUaDp8ML.jpg) ![Cyanuric Acid CYA Remover for Pool & Spa, Skimmer Filter 1 lb - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/616B+zeY0JL.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - Cyanuric Acid (CYA) Reducer for Pool and Spa, Removes CYA Through Filtration 1IB - Natural Chemistry Phosfree, 3-Liter - Bio-Active BA-CAR-08 Non Polluting 100-Percent Cyanuric Acid Reducer Powder for Commercial and Residential Swimming Pools, 8 Ounces. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/587659450-cyanuric-acid-cya-remover-for-pool-and-spa-skimmer-filter](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/587659450-cyanuric-acid-cya-remover-for-pool-and-spa-skimmer-filter) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
