In the first place, while the box is heavy, it’s not that heavy that it can’t be carried off by someone determined to gain access to the box’s contents. Yes, the box is nearly bomb proof, but it is really designed for the purpose of allowing you the pistol owner quick access to the firearm while half asleep and preventing teenagers, young children, or others from “borrowing” or stealing the firearm and doing something stupid or worse. It is also not reliant on batteries or the electrical grid or clean hands or fingers that may not activate a biometric locking mechanism. It’s a brilliantly simple yet effective design that prevents theft and allows quick access.
