With ordinary sliced bread there is room to fit hot cross buns as well. The lid comes off easily though make sure your under cupboard height is sufficiently high to be able to take the lid off if that is where you are going to place it. It rolls from side a little bit if it's rocked to start it off but it's nowhere near as bad as the scaresy video another buyer put up.
