Right out of the box, you can tell they’re solidly built but still fairly lightweight for their size. I can carry each ramp without breaking a sweat, and they fold in half which makes storage convenient (I just tuck them in the bed or garage corner when not in use). The build quality is impressive – thick aluminum with sturdy hinges, and they don’t flex or wobble even under a heavy load. I’ve driven my mower and an ATV up these and they handled the weight like champs (rated 1500 lbs for the pair, and I believe it). Using these ramps is so much easier and safer than makeshift planks I used in the past. They have rubber-tipped ends that grip the tailgate, and they come with safety straps to secure each ramp to my truck so nothing kicks out while loading. The surface of the ramps has a punch-plate style texture which provides great traction for the tires. Even on a muddy day, my mower’s wheels didn’t slip at all climbing up.
