The only really bad issue so far is the Unexplained shutdowns. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by A***R on 9 November 2025* If you’re planning on hiding everything under the panels, the cable for the front camera might be a little short. It might be long enough if you mount the monitor on the rear view mirror. Comparing my non-powered rear view mirror and the Akeeyo dashcam, images from the dashcam appear farther away. Power for the Akeeyo NVX dashcam comes from a aux 12v socket (stock), and I have a Bluetooth transmitter (to connect to my phone) in the regulator 12v socket. They are both on the same circuit and I think the fuse is 15 amps. At lower volumes, everything is okay. At higher volumes, the Bluetooth transmitter might be using more power, so the Akeeyo monitor flickers. The main reason I got this was to see better at night. I mounted the monitor on my dashboard (in the center). That way, I just need to glance down to see what’s further down the road. On dark roads, I can see better with the dashcam, but I’m not sure if I could react quickly enough if there was a person walking on the road. If I got another dashcam, I would want a taller screen (same length). At speeds below 25 mph, I can react quickly enough. Above that, it’s hard. I hope to get better with some practice. It takes me a few moments to recognize people/animals on the screen, and by then, I’ve traveled many yards. The glare from oncoming traffic makes it really hard to see at night. Installation was easy, but the wires are really short. The SD card was easy to format, but I’ll be installing a larger one soon.
