Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-LR Long Range 802.11ac Access Point Gigabit PoE

Just deployed one of these to one of our properties in a remote location in the middle of the woods. Does the job I need it to do and does so reliably. Easy to configure using the free UniFi controller software. Started with the software running locally on my laptop, then migrated the controller to the VM that controls my home network 150 miles away. Even with the high latency of using a satellite uplink, the software talks to the AP just fine. Beam me up, Scotty.

Keep in mind that you need to download software (java based) to setup and manage the wireless device. There is no built in web interface that most people are accustom to. Once up and running, it just works. I have two different models and can manage both by the same software.

Only using one of these attached to a router (the WiFi on the router has been turned off) and it's awesome. Rock solid, never need to reboot, and it covers our 2500 sq ft house with no issues. I want to add the security gateway and a unifi switch, but this is a good start.

Very easy to install and very good WiFi signal to cover our entire 120 foot long (ranch style house and basement).

I’ll never use a router again after using this product.

I was told they will not work without an additional purchase! We can not get them to work!

Got nowhere near the range advertised. Couldn’t get coverage across 75 feet.

I am using this for now since a month, 5ghz wifi speed is quite good but it doesn't cover even a floor... And 2.5 ghz wifi I am using for IOT devices, it's extremely fluctuating, they get good signal strength some time and loose connectivity most of the time. I didn't get reason for the signal strength fluctuations, I am sure it's not because of wall or weather conditions etc because at the same place if I connect dlink it works like a charm and quite reliable, but this expensive device is playing hide-and-seek that I am unable to fix, hope some day i get the fix. It might be a powerful device but basic reliability I am missing.. I am unhappy with the control and configuration software, it can only be used from adminstrator account in windows 10 pc, doesn't give options to choose installation path etc, they might have reason for that but it's user pain..

Just had the unit installed and find the range really BAD. I feel the unit is not properly functioning. It keeps loosing signal and the strength fluctuate every few minutes. Trying to get customer support but not successful. This is the most expensive access point and was looking forward to enjoying the benefits.
