I have personally used it mostly with open-source software like Krita and OpenToonz, for both of which it works quite well, although the programs themselves may be a little buggy. Paint Tool Sai is a popular proprietary painting software, but the tablet doesn't seem to run perfectly on it. I have experienced a bug in the program where if the program starts before the tablet is connected, Sai may need to be restarted or will ignore the tablet's input. This is likely on Sai's side rather than the tablet's though. If you wanted to use this tablet on a Linux machine, they just release a beta Linux driver for this device last month on their website. They claim that it works well on Ubuntu and haven't developed it for any other distro yet. Since I have Arch Linux, I haven't had the chance to test out this driver, as it seems that it definitely doesn't work on the Arch Linux kernel. OpenToonz and Krita are both open-sourced, so they are available on Linux as well. **Q: Wanted to verify before purchasing - does the item come with a usb-c compatible cord for the newer macbooks? or do i need to purchase separately?** A: Hi, this item comes with a standard USB cord, so if your computer is the newer MacBooks, then you need a converter for the connection. **Q: Is this compatible with PowerPoint?** A: Yes : It acts just like a mouse, but can often give you much greater control to create pointer based graphics such as circling an item in the display, or handwriting text. **Q: is this device compatible with Autodesk sketchbook?** A: Thanks for your question on the XP-PEN StarG640 Digital Graphics Tablet. Per your question, Yes, it does support work with Autodesk sketchbook! ## Frequently Bought Together - Drawing Tablet XPPen StarG640 Digital Graphic Tablet 6x4 Inch Art Tablet with Battery-Free Stylus Pen Tablet for Mac, Windows and Chromebook (Drawing/E-Learning/Remote-Working) - XPPen Artist Drawing Glove 2-Fingers Glove for Graphics Drawing Tablet Suitable for Right Hand and Left Hand (Size M) Black - XPPen PN01 Battery-Free Stylus 8192 levels of Pen Pressure Sensitivity Compatible with XPPen Star03 Star06 StarG430S StarG640 M708 Graphic Drawing Tablet (Black) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/56203244-star-g640](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/56203244-star-g640) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-11*
