Yes, there are lights with higher lumens ratings. Lumens represent the total light emitted, over the entire area affected by the light. If you're looking for something that's intense, it's the candela rating. That's the intensity of the beam in the "hot spot". You'll not find many rated more than the 650,000 rating this bad boy sports. It is big, and I wouldn't want to carry it around on a long hike, but if you want to light up things a long way away, this would be an excellent choice. It is equipped with a standard 5.5mm socket so you could mount it to a standard camera tripod if you like.

This flashlight is everything I expected it to be. The beam is very focused, and very bright. The beam distance is exceptional. Yes, there are lights with higher lumens ratings. It is big, and I wouldn't want to carry it around on a long hike, but if you want to light up things a long way away, this would be an excellent choice.
