The benchmark instruments were made by Lufkin, Starret,and Mitotuyo. Unfortunately those are priced out of the range for a home hobbyist. I wanted an economical set to use in my engine building hobby. I think these will fit the bill. The quality looks good and they feel good in the hand. Accuracy seemed right on when I checked them with known standards. They come in a nice blow molded case although I’m not a fan of the molded hinge. I’d rather have an actual hinge.
