Review: so was nicely surprised with quality - I really wasn't expecting a solid wooden door with proper glass, so was nicely surprised with quality. I thought it was just going to be plastic glass with a photo effect on it. It even had proper hinges and doorbolt. It had a slight bit of damage on the edge of the door obviously caused by transit as the damage matched with the damage on the box. However, it's wood so we could rub it down if we wished. There was a plastic mirror protection to the back but we also put some extra protection on the back and duck taped it to ensure moisture wouldn't get in as the mirror could weather. We did also remove the mirror and reposition higher as there was a slight gap to the top. Looked perfect in the end. Very pleased as you can see by the photo, it really does look like an open gate.

**Q: What colour would best describe the wood - teak, mahogany etc? Thank you**
A: Hi, it’s a dark colour, lighter than mahogany and obviously becomes lighter as it weathers. Word of warning - my door was literally pecked to pieces by a magpie that clearly thought his mirror image was a threat! I tried moving the door to a more sheltered position but, unfortunately, he found it!!! Great door if you don’t have the same problem I did.

**Q: Hello to you,  I was just wondering if this mirror would be ok to be attached to a garden fence as I do not have a wall for it to go on.**
A: I have attached my gate to the fence - we put in a cross piece of wood to strengthen it and screwed the bottom of the gate to the fence as well - this stops any movement if its windy. I have also planted conifers either side - its looking really good.I will say that my fence is new - would advise checking post foundations if the fence is old

**Q: This looks fab!  My only concern would be birds flying in to it! Does that happen?**
A: It is beyond fab!  To answer your question. No birds have ever flown into it. Mind you my dog has tried to get into the "secret garden" several times lol.  It is a really amazing piece of kit. We only had a garden wall to reflect but after a bit of lateral thinking we bought some silk ivy for the wall and it really looks as if there is another garden through the "gate". Buy it, I promise you won't regret your purchase

**Q: Hi, is this item a working door/gate ie opens and closes.**
A: This item is just a mirror with a fake door flame. It looks real though.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Didn't last long.

I bought this in June 2025. Initially, I was very pleased with it, but I now see that after 6 months, the bottom rail has delaminated and the whole thing is now warped top to bottom, as can be seen by me holding a straight edge against it. I expected it to last longer than this. When I mounted it, I made sure that it was off the ground so that it wouldn't rot from the bottom up.
