## Description

Celestion 12" 65W 8 OHM GUITAR LOUDSPK

Review: Five star - Superb. Replaced my combo speaker with this and this sounds so much better. It's lighter than my old one too. Has a clear sound.
Review: Great tone/excellent upgrade for Marshall cabinets and more. - I replaced the stock G12T-75 speakers in my Marshall 1922 cabinet with G12M-65 Creambacks recently. The stock speakers had a lot of high and low end, with a scooped-out midrange - fine for a lot of modern guitar sounds but, to me, often sounding simultaneously muddy and harsh. The Creambacks produce a much smoother sound, with a rich, musical midrange that lets the natural voices of my guitars come through much better. Compared to Celestion's Vintage 30s, which I've also used, they don't seem as loud - but still loud enough that a 15 watt amp driving the 2x12 is enough to leave my ears ringing. And the Creambacks have a slightly darker tone than the Vintage 30s without the slightly nasal peak in the high-mids. I'd choose the Creambacks every time. But tone is a very personal and subjective thing. So what I would say is that, if you're thinking about a speaker upgrade for a cabinet or combo to tame an overly shrill, scratchy sound, or if just you want a more "vintage" tone these speakers are well worth checking out.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Your amp doesn’t suck. Your speaker does!
*by M***T on 26 April 2025*

I acquired a Marshall Valvestate VS65R from a friend of mine and anyone who owns one of these hybrid amps from the 90s knows they are notoriously flat, lifeless, and possess a shrill tone lacking any kind of warmth. It was for this reason that this amp lived in my basement for a few years. I was just never happy with the way it sounded. I recently revisited this amp and a thought crossed my mind. Maybe it’s not the amp, but perhaps it’s the speaker. Enter the 65 watt Celestion G12 M Cream Back. After a fairly straight forward and easy speaker installation in the cabinet, it completely transformed my amp from a soulless, trebley mess to a full, rich, dynamic sounding amp. I finally have those warm, rich lows the other speaker was lacking yet the highs still sparkle. I’m so glad I decided to rehab this amp. Let this be a lesson to anyone unhappy with the way an amp sounds. It’s probably not your amp that sucks. It’s most likely just a low quality speaker.
