## Description

**Feed the whole table — the Moroccan way.** This large terracotta tagine is made in the traditional potteries of Tangier, Morocco — the same workshops that supply the local souk and the households of the city. At 32cm diameter it comfortably serves 4-6 people, making it ideal for family meals, dinner parties and everything in between. Each tagine is hand-thrown on a wheel and hand-painted by skilled craftspeople, making every piece genuinely one of a kind. The conical lid is the secret to great tagine cooking — as steam rises during cooking it condenses on the inside of the lid and falls back into the dish, keeping meat, fish and vegetables tender and deeply flavoured without the need for excess liquid or stock. **How to cook with your tagine:** For best results, use in a conventional oven at 130-150C. On gas or electric hobs, always place a heat diffuser or simmer ring between the tagine and the heat source to distribute heat evenly and protect the terracotta. Start on a low heat and increase gradually — never place a cold tagine directly onto high heat. Not suitable for ceramic hobs. Not microwave safe. **Caring for your tagine:** Hand wash only with warm water and mild soap. Do not use the dishwasher. Dry thoroughly before storing. Ordered us a replacement and was very quick and kind in doing so. Would definitely recommend anyway, I think was just a bad day ours broke. The tajins are gorgeous.

**Q: how many litres does it hold?**
A: It will hold 1 litre max (I bought the larger 4-6 person)

**Q: Does the lid have a hole in it**
A: Hi there, the lid doesn’t have a hole in it. I absolutely love it. Just came with a different design. It looks rustic and very traditional.

**Q: Could this be used on charcoal like the traditional cooking of tagines in Morocco?**
A: Yes this tagine can be used on charcoal

**Q: Can i use it on a gas stove?**
A: The traditional tagines are mostly used on fire or gas stoves. Just make sure to cook on low heat otherwise it may crack. Traditional clay doesn’t like high heat or changes in heat. Wash only in sink with mild detergent. Enclosed was a little heat diffuser to distribute heat evenly but I am not sure if this is used on gas stoves. I think there were some instructions with it if I remember correctly. Make sure you don’t skip those steps! Alternatively look on the internet. There is a lot of advice.
