Review: nothing from them but more emails circling back to their original useless links. Avoid buying this product. - I'm computer proficent but this company allowed a product to be sent out that did not include the software on cd/dvd and according to mulitple reviews they know that the USB is not enough to power this without the additional software. No problem I went to the link on their technical support and downloaded it myself. Stil not enough power. Everything appears to be installed but still doesn't work, the pen lights up but no scanning. Its the light to nowhere. They also did not include the calibration sheet, I also went to their site to download the pen calibration sheet. Nope still nothing. I have two laptops one with windows 7 and one with windows 8. It doesn't work on either one. The company just circles around the issue. Tech support is not support if I have to do everything myself. Also you will see under the driver properties that it installs as Pro Scan 1. According ot many techy sites we need Proscan 1.3. There is no link to update this driver on IRIS support. I have hunted in multiple areas of their site and others for a phone number. Still nothing, submitted a ticket, still no contact other than the same aforementioned links that do not resolve. Have others had the same experience?** A: Even worst, it will not install on Win-7 either. Understand - It installs ok. It just wont connect to the reg server, when I know my Hi-Speed connection is working fine. It ask you to enter code then click "Activate Now!". So I do, then you get an error message - #0: Machine offline or Server down. It also states "Received content of invalid content (when I know it's right.) So tech support e-mailed me a 2nd activation code, it still didn't work either. So then it states - You are not registered. So I go online to their site and register. It still will not connect to their server to activate. It's Their Server That Is The Problem. Tech says they want permission to look inside my computer. NEVER! It's the only program that I could not install Ever!!! **Q: Does it scan handwriting?** A: It is the best version thus far. It is easy to maneuver and the number of mistakes relatively to other versions is small. Highly recommended! **Q: Does it work with black background and white letter?** A: I don't know. Never had a reason to. Sorry. **Q: Does the pen scan a pdf document and converts it into an editable word document ?** A: It can scan any printed document and convert it to editable text. So if you have a PDF document, you can simply print the page(s), then use the pen to scan and convert to editable text. If you have full page documents you want to convert, you can also use ReadIRIS Pro 14 OCR (available for PC or MAC on Amazon) which can open the PDF file and convert the entire page to an editable format.
