My opener rcvr is roughly 10 ft from the door and from windshield to bumper about 6 ft. Add another 2 - 3 ft for door to car distance. Mine works like a champ. The radio/hotspot icon is still there, which is amusing. It works fine, but I noticed that the clone (this) device requires you to hold the button down for about 0.5 seconds whereas the original brand-name remote only requires a momentary button press. I tend to think the half-second press is actually better as it prevents accidental door openings if you have the remote in your pocket while doing yard work. I often close my garage door during yard work to prevent grass clippings from blowing in the garage. I really need a shed.
