I used it on carpet stairs and it held up okay. I think it would work even better on flat surfaces like hardwood or tiled floors. I was unsure about purchasing this, but at this price point, if it went south, I wouldn't be out too much money. I stand corrected. This is a great buy. Better quality than I expected. Makes a big visual statement and makes folk happy. Rolled it out for the return of our snowbird neighbors and the result was better than expected. We all need fun and a laugh - This provides that.
