It heats water quickly, is easy to use, and feels surprisingly good quality. Excellent value for the money — highly recommended! Review: Couldn't be happier! - On products like these, I prefer to wait a while to leave a review so that I can see how the item is going to hold up after some actual use. My Husband and I purchased the OVENTE Portable Electric Kettle on December 2nd of 2022 and as you can see from the review date, we've been using it for nearly a year now. We us this kettle every single day, throughout the coarse of the entire day. My husband and I drink a lot of tea... It has a double-walled stainless steel interior that keeps the heated water inside fairly hot for at least an hour. The inside is not seamless but we've had no problems with seam separation or rust/discoloration of any kind. The interior and exterior of the kettle have held up wonderfully. We have only ever used a mild soap and a plastic bristled bottle brush to clean our kettle's interior and then just rinsed it out really well. The exterior of it wipes clean with a damp cloth. I did check lots of reviews on lots of kettles before deciding on this one and a the deciding factors for me were water capacity, price, the auto-shutoff safety function and of course the reviews. This one holds 1.7 liters, which was more than similarly priced kettles. Currently, the OVENTE Portable Electric Kettle is priced at $19.99 and that is still a great price for a kettle of this quality, in my opinion. One of the features I love about this kettle is the auto-shutoff of the power button on the handle, once the water hits boiling temperature. The auto-shutoff button still works perfectly and still lights even nearly a year later with constant use. This is the first electric kettle I've owned and it takes around 5 minutes or so to heat if you've filled it to the fill line. At the time of purchase, I think I only read one truly negative review in-which the reviewer showed the kettle boiling over and stated that it was unsafe. I've never had that happen in all the time we've used this kettle and if you're not over-filling it, it really shouldn't. Even when he water is at a full rolling boil, inside the kettle, it can't actually boil out of the kettle if you don't fill it above the very obvious 'fill line' marked on the inside of the pot... ## Features - DOUBLE-WALL DESIGN – Say goodbye to traditional single-wall plastic kettles. This electric kettle features a stainless steel interior that keeps water warm for longer periods while ensuring the exterior remains safe to touch. Hope this helps! **Q: Can you heat milk in it?** A: I would say no - it is a tea kettle to boil water. I suggest that you Use a small pot to heat milk **Q: Is the inside of the lid plastic or stainless steel?** A: The inside of the LID is plastic. The inside of the Kettle is Stainless Steel. This kettle is excellent! **Q: Does the hole in the lid ever closes or it always remains open? I don't want water to evaporate if it stays open** A: The plastic piece inside the lid is hinged and is flexible but it stays closed unless you are pouring water through it to fill the kettle. I just take the lid off when filling but when heating I have it on because it provides a tight seal so that it heats faster and doesn't evaporate ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ . *by A***A on September 7, 2026* Great kettle for the price! I bought it to use for boiling water to pour down the sinks following my pouring a half cup of to clear out the plumbing pipes. I'd always taken the lazy route in just using "hot" water, but-------wow! impressive how effective using my quickly boiled water was in the application of the organic product. It was definitely bubble bubble, no more toil and trouble and I am so glad I splurged and bought this pot to make my life a bit easier!! I use it with distilled water, to keep it in good shape because I intend to get a lot of use out of it. The only drawback is that somehow, i wish the maker could have made its plastic exterior a bit thicker somehow, and a bit more impervious to heat, because YES the pot gets really really hot itself, Otherwise it's a boon to have because it's so helpful I just make sure to always grab it via its handle, I still noticed the heat, but am mindful of my grip. I feel overall that it was proved to be a worthy investment! Size wise, it's super easy to store, on a special shelf just under my bathroom sink. ## Frequently Bought Together - OVENTE Electric Kettle, 1.7L Double Wall Stainless Steel Insulated Water Boiler & Heater for Coffee or Tea, 1100W Fast Boiling with Auto Shut-Off, Boil-Dry Protection & Secure Locking Lid, Green KD64G - OVENTE Electric Kettle, 1.7L Double Wall Stainless Steel Insulated Water Boiler & Heater for Coffee or Tea, 1100W Fast Boiling with Auto Shut-Off, Boil-Dry Protection & Secure Locking Lid, Black KD64B --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/53970919-ovente-1-7l-double-wall-electric-tea-kettle-1100w-power](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/53970919-ovente-1-7l-double-wall-electric-tea-kettle-1100w-power) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
