Fun thing to have around for up-cycling old vases and such. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good if You Keep Your Expectations Realistic *by K***N on August 16, 2026* The Rust-Oleum 301494 Specialty Mirror Spray is a good option if you're trying to lessen the effects of desilvering of mirrors. Desilvering - or the appearance of black spots - happens when the reflective metallic backing on the rear of the glass erodes due to trapped moisture, humidity, or harsh cleaning chemicals. Because the damage occurs behind the glass, you cannot clean or wipe them away from the front. The Rust-Oleum Mirror Spray helped minimize the look of the spots, but does not perfectly match the silvering on mirrors. It was very easy to apply, dried very quickly, and made my mirrors look much better than they started off. The spray goes on very cleanly and covers the glass effectively. As far as durability goes, I've only had the mirror fixed for about a month now, and I haven't seen any signs of degradation. Overall, while this will not replace getting an entirely new mirror, the Rust-Oleum spray paint did a good enough job of hiding old black spots that I would recommend it to people who don't want to invest in a new mirror, but wants to minimize the appearance of the black spots.
