The balance is good and the blade itself is heavy duty. The paperwork does say to keep this knife clean, in dry location, and oil regularly to prevent corrosion or rust. The leather sheath seems to be made backwards at least to me; I wear it on my left side for a cross draw, and the decorative side is on the inside with that orientation, but it still works great and fits either concealed carry or open carry. This is my first damascus style knife but I do highly recommend it for all the reasons mentioned.
