These aren't designed to replace a real rug, more to sit on top of already existing carpet or another rug. So they're pretty thin and don't have anti-slip for hardwood floors. My biggest worry was that the rugs wouldn't lay flat because another reviewer mentioned that was an issue. Immediately out of the box they didn't, but after a couple of days they did. The roads are only wide enough for a hot wheel car to fit on (not in one lane, but across the entire road). I didn't mind that, but I could see someone being concerned. What I liked: my son owns a number of cars that sink into our carpet when he is playing with them. These rugs solved that issue, now he can sit down and push his cars around on the rug without the wheels getting caught. The colors are very vibrant and the designs are very clear. They also feel very sturdy, I roll them up and lay them out at least once a day.
