The fact that they can compress won't lighten the weight of your suitcase but it will require less room which is a bonus for certain trips (like to cold places allowing you to condense that sweater or jacket until you need it). I have found that a compressed garment springs back to itself in seconds whether it is cashmere or fleece without ever harming the garment. If you've ever used the plastic compression bags that you have to roll up you will love these.
