High-speed steel is much more expensive; these are sufficient for your needs. Great customer service. *by C***S on June 8, 2026* Owned this set for a year and use it fairly frequently. It’s a nice set for the average to advanced category of users. It’s very helpful to have the correct drill bits per tap included- reduces risk of bits snapping or unsuccessful taps. As with ANY drill/tap bits, the smaller the size, the higher the likelihood of snapping the bit. If you use smaller bits, use a drill press. And even then, it’s risky. I’d stick to softer metals for the small bits, like aluminum. I broke a couple bits, sent them a message, and they helped me, no questions asked. They stand behind their product, and honestly, that’s worth the price of admission by itself. Buy the set. Treat it right and with respect, and it will last you. Get some cutting/tap fluid as well.
