Review: This is the new baseline! - 9/2/2026 : Everyone's use case and experience is different. For us, I started with the G4 pro, loved it, loved the handle, it allowed me to keep healing a badly injured lower back, unfreezing my muscles gradually so I could keep doing physiotherapy and personal training. But, one of the batteries died, and it was time to upgrade. I've tried a cheap Chinese massage gun a few years ago, and, I will say it outright, the theragun handle is far superior to a simple handle. It makes all the difference to doing a full body massage with ease, versus getting terrible hand cramps and dreading using the massage gun. I went into the therabody store, and was shocked that the new G6 line is almost completely silent ! The prime is now strong enough in its stall force to satisfy all my needs, and I'm thrilled! I have been using it for only a couple of days, and if it continues to work like this then I am more than happy with this massage gun! I can do a full body massage while watching videos on my computer without turning the volume of the videos up at all! Even with a G5, you have to turn the volume up a bit. With the G4, I would have to blast the volume. The G6 feels and sounds like a premium spa experience, and it DOES make a difference! Being quiet, feeling soft in the hand, the whole process makes my body automatically take deep, relaxing breaths, which helps muscles unclench, and stretch out knots. I feel so hopeful when I use this, hopeful that I can fully heal, and get into great shape, and look forward to great health moving forward in life. Life is finally the future we wanted it to be. The pressure is perfect for me, but I am not a fan of putting too much pressure with a massage gun, since that can be dangerous. If a knot is problematic, I use a lacrosse ball on it. It's just safer that way. The control is better than the G6, because it starts in the setting you last used, and not from the lowest setting. Also, the battery lasts longer, letting me easily do my entire body without running out of juice. From what I have seen, the two main issues people have had with these guns is with the battery dying before expected, and the case near the pump breaking. If any of those occurs, I will update here. If not, you can assume it is working well.
Review: It provides relief - Works great. Easily helps provide relief to neck and back muscles. The design of the handles does allow you to get some parts of your neck, and some of the back - but probably not as easily as the marketing may lead you to believe. For most instances you will need someone to drive it into back areas that are especially troublesome. You need a nearly “straight in” angle for some parts of your back that cannot be easily physically performed by yourself, otherwise the drive shaft will start slipping and you don’t get a smooth percussive motion. Other than that caveat, it certainly does provide relief and helps to ‘reset’ those tense muscles and encourages freedom of movement. The included massage heads are ample for most use cases - niche or not - and I’m happy overall with the purchase while it was on sale.

**Q: Can the internal battery be removed and replaced at the end of its useful life?**

**Q: Does this product vibrate in your hand and arms like the cheaper versions?**
A: The Theragun Prime has been a great addition to my Spinal Stenosis therapy sessions.  There is minimal vibration in my hand and arm when in use.  It is my final segment of my 3-5 stretching sessions daily for my back and legs.  It is a quality product.

**Q: Why is it that I have mine on the 1st speed and all of a sudden it starts to go faster?**
A: Maybe, you accidentally pressed the button to turn it up a speed without realizing. That’s the only thing I can think of. I would reach out to the seller if what I suggested is not the case. I hope that helps. Sorry! Good luck.

I wanted one for a while but the price tag was a bit too far for me but now I am on a HSA plan and I was almost maxed out so I took the plunge and let me just say I wish I had a long time ago. I had a cheaper, knockoff brand one that basically just vibrated and it did okay but never seemed to help more than for a few minutes after use. This thing is a beast, it thumps like no other and is easily adjustable speed wise and the heat option works very well. It comes with a bunch of different attachment heads that hit every spot right. My girlfriend has an ongoing hip issue and she said it hurts every day but after using this she went days without pain. I can't explain how but that thing just works. Going to buy the cooling head attachment to go with it too to complete the set. If you were on the fence about these get down off of it and go buy it!
