## Overview

TL Reefs Deionization DI Resin is a premium mixed bed resin designed for the final purification stage in RO/DI systems. Featuring a unique color-changing indicator that shifts from purple to amber when exhausted, it provides a clear visual cue for timely replacement. Each 1.25lb vacuum-sealed packet perfectly fits a standard 10" DI cartridge, ensuring maximum shelf life and optimal ion removal for zero TDS water.

## Description

DI Resin serves as the final stage in an RO/DI system, eliminating all ions to deliver zero TDS water. Our premium, gel-type, high-capacity, color-indicating mixed ion exchange resin is a 1:1 chemically equivalent blend of cation and anion resin. It features a color indicator that changes from purple to light brown or amber when exhausted. Large DI resin bags, once opened, start depleting due to air exposure. Our DI resin is vacuum-sealed in single-use mylar bags to prevent air intrusion, ensuring maximum efficiency and shelf life. We supply single-use packets, with quantity discounts available, each filling one standard 10" refillable cartridge.

Review: Perfect for Reef Aquaria - One has to understand what the actual TDS reading of their local tap water before judging this product. I recently changed all five (5) stages of my RO/DI filtration unit. Sediment, Carbon Block, RO, DI, and post Carbon filter today (Feb 2, 2020). TDS reading after two (3) stages (Sefiment, Carbon Block filters and RO unit): ‘8’. TDS reading after going through the fourth stage (DI resin): ‘0’. •Photos I’ve attached for reference. The longevity of the color changing DI resin is dependent on the local water supply and the filtration it passes through, in my case ‘newly’ changed filter media (all five stages of them). DI resin, in the long run, would be less costly to replace when used the proper way. I’ve done 20Gal as of the moment for sea salt mixing and still the DI resin hasn’t changed a bit (usually changes from the bottom of the cartridge). Now, I’ve tried BRS’ and Marine Depot’s color changeing DI resin and seemed to notice instant color change after just 10Gal of freshly filtered water. I would not judge their DI resin too quickly since I’ve been running the rest of the filters (Sediment, Carbon Block, RO unit, besides the post Carbon Block) for a few months since. I’ll be ordering TL Reef’s brand starting today for my DI resin replacement. Update: (February 4, 2020), after 40gals had passed readings on my TDS (product water): still at ‘0’. Post RO TDS reading still at ‘8’. Apparently no significant change. Update: (February 10, 2020), 60gals mark, DI resin had a slight color-change. Post DI reading for TDS, surprisingly still is ‘0’. Update: (February 13, 2020), 100gal mark, DI resin obviously had significantly changed color. Close to changing it when it reads ‘5’ on the TDS meter. As of now post DI reading still at ‘0’ TDS.👌🏻 Update: (February 18, 2020) I recently purchased another bag of the product expecting previous load would have been exhausted by now. Already had filtered 140gals and yet, TDS, post DI is still at ‘0’. I’ll just have to wait till the next reload. Update: (February 24, 2020) I’m very amazed that after filtering 160gals TDS is still at ‘0’. Key is to have a well maintained prefilters such as sediment filter, carbon block, RO filter prior to the DI stage, I do however have a post carbon filter after all the 4 stages. Also, planning to expand to 6 stage by adding another carbon block as the 2nd stage. Already did receive my 2nd bag of DI from TL Reefs but didn’t see a reason why I should be opening it besides, I still probably have a cup left from the first bag that is unused. This product with all the filtration stages will save you a lot of money. I did have to replace the 10” DI refillable every week but, with the new set of filter media the DI resin doesn’t have to work that hard. I also have installed a constrictor (rated 50gal/hr) on the waste water side of the RO shell. All working great!👌🏻 Thank you TL Reefs!!! Update: (May 12, 2020) it’s been months and several hundreds of gallons later, color has changed on the DI resin. Still the TDS on the ‘out’ reads ‘0’. I guess I’ll just have to wait until it reads ‘2-3‘. It’s been a very reliable brand⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ *Color change picture posted
Review: Works great and easy to use - Used on an R.O. filter system to collect tap water for water changes on saltwater aquarium and for drinking water. In the past I bought the entire canister didn't know a refill was available. So now saving a bunch of money. I noticed my 'zero water' meter was no longer measuring zero so knew it was time to replace D.O. filter. It was easy to replace the media. Used a funnel to keep from making a mess. More than enough to fill my canister.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Color changing, achieve 0 TDS.
*by M***S on September 12, 2019*

With this I am able to achieve 0 TDS. I added this to my reverse osmosis system to make RO water for my reef tank. It changes color so I know when to change the cartridge.
