Review: BUY the LG LW8022IVSM and LG LW1522IVSM = WINNERS!!!! - Bought 2 sizes of LG Air conditioners: 14,000 btu LG LW1522IVSM and 8,000 btu LG8022IVSM. BOTH WORK FANTASTIC! SUPER QUIET, FAST to cool, very EFFICIENT WORK HORSES!!! The 8000 I am reviewing here (see my other review for the 14K btu, but same glowing review) cools the medium BR and back of the home very nicely. So quiet you barely know they're on. In addition to the strong and fast cooling, THESE ARE ESPECIALLY GOOD at taking HUMIDITY out of the air and that is why I bought them. If you live in an area with high humidity like I do GET THESE LG's you will not regret it. The remote is easy to use too. I feel they are a GREAT value for the money due to the fact that they have Dual inverters which cost much less to run so it's worth it and you get reduced cost benefit in the longrun. ONE downside-- You may get some damage upon arrival from shipping or their packaging Im not sure which, however I felt its worth it because I was able to remedy the problems (crushed fins using a toothpick or fin comb, minor dents and breakage, some items omitted from the box but LG sent to me, call them!) None of it affected the way my units performed. Also, the drain PLUG was missing from one AC but present in the other. I AM NOT USING DRAIN PLUGS in my units. My advice after some research is that those plugs are ONLY good if the unit has NO WATER inside it and THEN you want to put it in storage. If you keep the plugs in the units while working is is NOT good for the unit as it will create mold inside and damage the AC potentially stopping it from working. I've purchased many AC units in past years and none compare to these...BY FAR THESE ARE WINNERS!!
Review: Quiet, cools Well, Sips power - If I could give a 4.5 I probably would, mostly because the remote would stop working. But I guess the firmware must have updated, because it seems to be working again. It would lose connection, and I had to press the "mode" button for 3 seconds to reconnect it. But the phone app worked. I'd repeat what a lot of others have said--it's amazingly quiet, especially on energy saver. But it isn't bad on high cool mode, either. On the ES mode, you'll literally wonder if it is on. It's heavy--get someone to help you lift it into the window. I did it June 5th and my back still hurts. It's 63 pounds. It sips power. Mine has used $11 in two months. Nice app. You can schedule it to come on before you arrive. It tracks your kWh usage daily, weekly, and monthly. I entered my price per kw/hr so now it uses that to calculate cost. I have it in a small room, but if I crank it down I can cool down this small house well. I can't complain so far. The Inverter technology is good. I'm not sure I'll ever save back its price, but I'm going to try!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: It defaults to Energy Saver mode each time it starts. Do temperature & fan speed also reset to default setting? If so, what are the default settings?**
A: No, I believe that it will restart at the same setting it was at for fan speed and definitely temp is the same as it was when it was shut off.  I am very annoyed that it defaults to energy saver mode every time it is started whether by the button or on a timer.

**Q: I was planning on installing this in a second story bedroom window. Can that be done with out an outside support ?**
A: First off, I LOVE the AC.. it’s powerful but also super quiet.. I put a support bracket on the window before installing this because it is a little on the heavy side and I didn’t want to much stress on the window frame. There are brackets available that are pretty good and a lot of them have levels built-in so that you can drop the LVL off on the outside to ensure the air conditioner does not end up bringing water to the inside of the house. They say at 2° angle going down from the window frame to the outside is enough to drain it but I have mine more around 5° just to be on the safe side. That said I would definitely put a bracket in.

Bought 2 sizes of LG Air conditioners: 14,000 btu LG LW1522IVSM and 8,000 btu LG8022IVSM. BOTH WORK FANTASTIC! SUPER QUIET, FAST to cool, very EFFICIENT WORK HORSES!!! The 8000 I am reviewing here (see my other review for the 14K btu, but same glowing review) cools the medium BR and back of the home very nicely. So quiet you barely know they're on. Purchased this unit in May of 25. Used it for 4 months then it was put away for the winter. Put it in about a month ago and noticed the humidity in the room is off the charts. I have 2 of these units. My good unit dumps water all day, the new unit does nothing. Not a single drip of water. Cleaned the unit, nothing. Air filter is cleaned twice a week for my daughter's sake. What bothers me the most is that its conveniently right after the 1 year warranty expires. Won't purchase anything else from LG
