It isn't actually tape itself. I tie it to the top of the fencing from one end of my chickens yard to the opposite side to scare hawks away. It works really well for that. **Q: Does this hold up in the wind and UV? (Last tape I bought falls apart and breaks even in light winds.)** A: the strips I first put up lasted over a month in Phoenix (our record month) with just a little bit if crinkle and loss of luster. My bar fell in the pool a few times which may have pushed it along. The second strips I've put up has lasted much longer, also falling in the pool. I secured them on an old pool sweeping bar with 3m scotch tape. They have not been blown away by wind. It got all the fat pigeons and doves to stop hanging out on my waterfall feature. I feel it's the best 12 dollars I spent to use 30 cents of ribbon material ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Helped Discourage Grackles from Nesting! *by R***K on June 13, 2026* Great product wider tape helped keep the grackles away - struggled with trying to discourage numbers of Grackles from nesting in backyard arborvitae as they gather in number and are very territorial and very messy - These larger reflective tape rolls worked pretty well - Durable and best price we found for the 4 rolls - good durability and the noise from wind blown tape also seems to help discourage these dirty birds ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works amazingly well. *by M***N on August 8, 2025* ★★★★★ Works Like Magic – No More Bird Damage! So far this has worked to keep them away, even if it is a little unsightly. This ribbon tape has no adhesive properties, so I secured it in place with double-sided adhesive tape that I also found here on Amazon. ## Frequently Bought Together - Ruolan Bird Scare Tape Ribbon(700FT) Reflective Tape Keep Birds Away Outdoor,Double Side Bird Flash Tape, Scare Geese, Pigeon, Duck, Woodpecker - Hausse 10 Pack Reflective Pinwheels with Stakes, Extra Sparkly Pinwheel for Garden Decor, Bird Devices Deterrent to Scare Birds Away from Yard Patio Farm - Chephon Upgraded Bird Scare Discs Set - Large 24 Discs - Highly Reflective Double-Sided Bird Reflectors Scare Devices - Better to Keep Most Birds Away Like Woodpecker and Pigeon --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/518084283-ruolan-bird-scare-tape-ribbon-700ft-reflective-tape-keep-birds](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/518084283-ruolan-bird-scare-tape-ribbon-700ft-reflective-tape-keep-birds) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
