## Description

desertcart.com: Best Pet Flap XL Replacement Dog Door Flap Compatible with Ideal Pet Products Ruff Weather - Measures 9.75" x 17" Longer Lasting, Most Energy Efficient, Less Shrinkage, BPA Free

Review: Actually works! - After trying a couple of others from companies that used to work this one actually still fits well enough to be effective against the weather and connect with the magnets quickly and evenly. Thank goodness! I also appreciate that the material is softer than other replacement doors I've tried.
Review: So far so good! Very easy to install & perfect fit! - It took me all of 5 minutes (if even that!) to remove the old worn out warped flap on my IDEAL XL pet door, and replace with this one! It is perfect fit! It lines up perfectly to catch the magnetic strip. And even better in my opinion is that THIS flap is actually not clear (see through) which is exactly what I prefer, because I do not like the sunlight shining in through the pet door. My only disappointment is the price. There are other replacement flaps that have 2 packs for this price or cheaper, but I did actually go with this because I didn’t want the see through clear flaps. I actually have a double flap pet door and now seeing how good the fit is and being satisfied that it will help block out the light more, I will order another one for the second flap I need to replace. I cannot speak for the durability of it as of yet, but I do notice the material is not as thick as the flaps as the originals. I hope they hold up. The originals lasted for almost 18 years. I’m not expecting that, but I won’t be happy if these only last a few months. Time will tell. At this point though I am super happy with the flap!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great replacement flap
*by L***R on November 23, 2025*

It actually IS the best pet flap replacement. I compared it with another after-market flap, and this one was more true to size for my dog door (both long enough to not let in wind, and wide enough to catch on the fuzzy weatherstripping on the sides). Plus, the screw holes were carefully placed, unlike the other brand, so it was much easier to install. The metal plate at the bottom catches the magnet, and I like that it is opaque. It's a good weight and flexibility, similar to the original flap, and my dog went through it no problem (although I'm sure he wondered where all the dirty smears from his old one went...). I hope that it lasts as long as my last one did (17 years with numerous big dogs!).
