## Questions & Answers

**Q: I need a longer cables, what brand shoud i buy. someone knows?**
A: This cable works great. I wanted our Nest Cam to be on all the time instead of only 10 minutes at a time. Got tired of restarting it. This cable has been great. I have it plugged into the house thru livingroom screen, and I never have any issues with it. NOW we can monitor the driveway without it shutting off. Love this product. If you hate having to restart your Nest Cam--this is a must for you..You will be happy.

**Q: Will it still work in a power failure?**
A: IF the internal battery is charged up in the Nest Cam, the camera should continue to work in a power failure. The cable only delivers power to the Nest Cam and charges the battery; it has no effect in a power failure.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly what I needed!
*by on Reviewed in the United States 3 May 2023*

Google nest cameras, with battery only really don’t last that long on battery power alone. I found myself dismounting the camera every couple of weeks and recharging it. This little gem gave me continuous power and ease of installation was a breeze. It even comes with wire clips for wooden surfaces. The USB power brick is a little larger than I would like but still worked fine in a covered outdoor outlet. One thing I wish is that it came in multiple lengths such as 10 15, 20,25 and 30 feet. This didn’t really make a difference in my purchase and it’s working fine as I coiled and hidden the extra wire. I’m happy that it’s UV resistant but only time will tell if that’s actually true. I would definitely buy this product again. Important note: this is only to be used for the wireless battery powered Google Nest camera and no others.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Will not work with some camera mounts
*by on Reviewed in the United States 26 January 2025*

The cable itself is just fine with a Google nest outdoor camera but if you are using an auxiliary mount it may not work because the cable is straight instead of angled like the one that comes with the camera. I am using a made-for-Google mount commonly available on Amazon but you can see that the cable will not clear it, although the original one did because of the angled plug. In my case I was able to grind down the mount to make clearance. I think many people would not be able to do that.

### ⭐ Very low charge current
*by on Reviewed in the United States 25 August 2025*

Does not provide enough power to keep camera charged. Even with the camera turned off, it took upwards of 14 hours to fully charge the camera. Replaced cable with a different manufacturer's and the camera charges and operates with no issues. Cable is absolutely useless; do not buy.
