Checking my family's skis, I could see that each pair had this type of damage. Sharp edges scratch across the base if the skis are not held firmly. These ski straps are very well made. I would describe them as "heavy duty". They include a foam spacer that holds the skis apart where they would touch, as well as holding them firmly so they do not slide. I ordered four pairs and this gives a modest quantity discount. They are now fitted to the family skis and stored safely until next winter.
