Unfortunately, I’m returning the case for the following reasons: 1) hinges are so tight that they made a horrible popping sound leading me to reason 2) plastic is not as sturdy as I hoped which I realized as I was trying to open the case-one wrong move in my suitcase, and I’m afraid it would cave, and 3) this just isn’t large enough for everything, and with the fixed compartments, some of my favorite travel palettes would have to be left at home always. Here’s what I found: 1) The hinges, while still tight, have stopped making the really bad popping/creaking sounds with use. They are probably that tight to keep the lid open when in use. 2) Yes, it doesn’t hold my large palettes, but it does hold WAY more than I anticipated, especially with some creative arranging. I actually don’t use the pencil/brush holders on the flaps so I can fill my case to the top and still have the flaps close properly. 3) I just toted this thing around in my suitcase for 14 days in and out of cars, hotels, AirBnBs, and an international flight, and it is sturdy. I’ve been very thankful for the organization and ability to use the lighted mirror to do my makeup pretty much anywhere.
