Place a pipette into the autoclavable silicone holder and squeeze the bulb. The thumb lever controls both the aspirate and dispense speed. Press the central button to blow-out any drops remaining in the pipette. They are a very reputable organization. Electric? No, and no batteries used. Instrument operation relies on the stored vacuum from the compressed bulb. Expelling liquid relies on gravity. This is just a fancy version of a standard laboratory bulb that can be had for less than half the price.
