Review: great sound, louder than expected - These are small. They are light weight. But as a lazy sod, I was testing a new super 4k sub-woofer and plopped this on as I did not want to cart in my big speakers. They held their own. I was playing at a volume I was standing in front of the speakers but the clarity and volume of these is so much more than I expected. I planned on using these as secondary speakers half way down a room for conferences. But These would be ample as front speakers for an acoustic band. These are just too heavy to mount on a mic stand if that was your thoughts. Just too heavy. yes i turned them upside down as the thread on top is the same as a mic thread. My round based stand toppled straight away. The bass was good on them, until I tested my sub then it was rubbish. But add a decent sub to these and you have a nice sound for all sorts of music at a sociable noise level.

**Q: what cables do i need if i want to hook up 2 of these together and play music off of a phone via a 3.5mm jack?**
A: The lead that you need is a '1 Metre 3.5mm Mini Stereo Jack plug to Dual male XLR 3 Pin Plug Cable Lead' if you want the speakers further away from the phone you can extend with 2 xlr cables such as 'Stagg 3m High Quality male XLR to female XLR Plug Microphone Cable' both are available from Amazon

A: Has two inputs xml and quarter jack, but can't use both at once, I think

**Q: Is this suitable for a rotel amp**
A: Hi Simon,I'll have a go at answering.  It really depends on what you mean by suitable.The B208D is a small powered speaker with a built in Class D amplifier that has an adjustable input accommodating mic level up to and beyond the commercial line level of +4dBu (about 1.3V).  It works well as part of a PA system for a small venue, which is how I use it.You do not say which Rotel amplifier or preamplifier you are using but I assume that it has a domestic line output of -10dBV (about 300mV).  This means that with the correct cables (RCA to standard jack or male XLR) you can connect two B208Ds to your amp.A more significant question is whether you should, and I guess this depends on your reasons for doing it.  If you are having a party and want a lot of sound then it might make sense, although don't expect a lot of bass unless you add an active bass unit. If your interests are more hi-fi then I wonder if it is the right approach.  It is debatable whether the digital switching central to class D can ever provide hi-fi.  Purists still opt for class A and I think most (if not all) Rotel power amps are class AB which avoids crossover distortion at low output levels.  And the Behringers are designed to be driven hard which results in a sound that is (in my opinion) not particularly delicate.Don't get me wrong; the B208Ds are excellent, low cost pieces of equipment that you can just about carry without breaking your back.  However, even for PA applications I prefer my Yamaha Stagepas and I tend to use the B208Ds to fill in gaps or cover longer halls.I hope this helps!George

Great speaker. Smaller than expected but packs a punch. Hooked up to a ddj400 controller with xlr cable and sounds great. Not been able to test volume higher due to neighbours but I can safely say barely turned the volume up past one on first install and wow. Would suite a small party no problem also good as a monitor speaker. Delivery was super quick top marks. Might invest in another in future
