It works well for my application in that my stereo system installation has to work with the existing electric OEM capacity of my car. This fuse holder does this well. 2. Easily available replacement fuses from any auto parts store. Not an a special item. 3. Being the purpose is to provide circuit protection to prevent fires in any and all circumstances. If your involved in a car accident a fuse holder made of hard plastic would likely bust upon impact. This would leave uninsulated wires of large size able to short out against the sheet metal of the vehicle. Possible explosion from the battery and fire πŸ”₯ while you're still in the car waiting for help; possibly injured from the accident. Getting burned alive isn't satisfactory end result performance from a fuse holder. These fuse holders are of a not so hard plyable plastic that isn't so likely to break or shatter in and accident.
