Crafted from durable Chromium-Vanadium steel and featuring a stable box-joint design, these pliers are ergonomically engineered for professional use and backed by outstanding user ratings. ## Description The benefits of working with the Knipex Cobra are plain to see: these water pump pliers are light and stable, can be adjusted on the component quickly at the touch of a button and are self-locking on pipes and nuts. For pipes, nuts, sleeves, for various kinds of components: the professional user applies the Knipex Cobra quickly and accurately with just one hand movement. The spring-loaded hinge bolt locks securely into place without adjusting inadvertently. Thanks to the 25-fold fine adjustment, the Cobra can be ideally adjusted to different sizes of the component. This fine adjustment also makes sure that the distance to the handles remains hand-friendly for every grip width. The Knipex Cobra is further stabilised by the box joint design. Unlike pliers with mounted joints, no tilting forces arise when under strain. The handles stabilise each other in the joint. The Knipex Cobra clamps onto the component securely by itself thanks to the jaw geometry developed by Knipex. This means the user can put all energy into the desired movement without pressing the pliers handle together – and thus without energy loss: round components can be turned, bolted connections tightened and released. ## Features - Push the button for adjustment on the workpiece - Fine adjustment for optimum adaptation to different sizes of workpieces and a comfortable handle width - Self-clamping on pipes and nuts: no slipping on the workpiece, effortless working - Gripping surfaces with special hardened teeth, teeth hardness approx. 61 HRC: high wear resistance and stable gripping - Box-joint design for high stability due to double guide - 0 ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B000X4J2H0 | | Best Sellers Rank | 16,249 in DIY & Tools (See Top 100 in DIY & Tools) 21 in Tongue-and-Groove Pliers | | Brand | KNIPEX | | Colour | Red | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (12,385) 4.8 out of 5 stars | | Cutting Width | 2 Inches | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00843221003128 | | Grip Type | Ergonomic | | Handle Material | Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel | | Included Components | Components Included | | Item Dimensions L X W | 24.9L x 4.4W centimetres | | Item Type Name | Knipex Cobra Waterpump Pliers | | Item Weight | 0.75 Pounds | | Manufacturer | Knipex | | Material | Chromium-Vanadium Steel | | Model Number | 87 01 250 | | Part Number | 87 01 250 | | Set Name | Single | | Specification Met | DIN ISO 8976 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | | Usage | Professional | ## Product Details - **Brand:** KNIPEX - **Colour:** Red - **Cutting width:** 2 Inches - **Grip type:** Ergonomic - **Handle material:** Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel - **Item weight:** 0.75 Pounds - **Material:** Chromium-Vanadium Steel - **Product dimensions:** 24.9L x 4.4W centimetres - **Specific uses for product:** Professional - **Specification met:** DIN ISO 8976 ## Images ![87 01 250 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51YNzWs+-AL.jpg) ![87 01 250 - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51nqsTdmzkL.jpg) ![87 01 250 - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51zDAK8YhrL.jpg) ![87 01 250 - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71DZ6361mrL.jpg) ![87 01 250 - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ZmAuGE9ML.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Colour Name, Size Name** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 13 May 2026* These are by far the best (in my opinion) water pump pliers you can buy for the money. Easy to adjust and never slip at all once you get the grip. They're very sturdy and will outlast me I'm sure. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ sharp teeth that grip and dont let go. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 21 January 2021* Having used a cheap set of grips in the past that continuously slipped off bolts and handles that kept snapping closed on my fingers I gave up using grips like this until I was recommended to try the Knipex Cobra's. I bought the 250mm (10 inch) version as it was the most useful toolbox option for me. so what did I like about this tool?:The jaws are thin enough to reach into enclosed spaces:The teeth are incredibly sharp, they grip onto bolts and wont let go, this is easily better than using an adjustable spanner, although the grips will chew into soft metal.: once the grips are effectively locked onto a pipe you don't have to squeeze them any more, just maintain pressure on the top of the handle and the teeth do all the work gripping like crazy, you can stick an extension bar onto the top handle to maximize leverage.: The push button adjustment works really well and offers a superb range of sizes.: the teeth of the tool have been hardened to a significant degree, these wont deform or roll like a cheap tool.: No matter what level of adjustment the handles always have a gap so you will never pinch your fingers again!.:The handles have been hot dipped and will not slide off the tool.:The only thing I will say is that the teeth are directional, you have to flip the tool over if you want to go from tightening to loosening to get the best grip possible.Yes these are around a tenner more than most brands but I think it is money well spent, these have never let go on me and will take all the punishment you can dish out to them, phenomenal performance!. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ perfect *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 8 June 2025* well worth the price!! these grip and lock as it says. I haven't had these slip and don't think that it ever will. these have been great ever time I have used these. the design is great and is made of only high quality materials. these are the easiest to use because of the locking mechanism. they don't weigh much and are easy to use. I have put lots of force through these and they have never disappointed. I have seen them hold lots of weight through both me and others standing on these while testing them. therefore I don't think weight/for capacity is going to be a problem for anyone. ## Frequently Bought Together - KNIPEX Tools - Cobra Water Pump Pliers (8701250), Red,10-Inch - KNIPEX - 8701180 Knipex 87 01 180 7-1/4-Inch Cobra Pliers - KNIPEX TwinGrip Pliers --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/50961294-87-01-250](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/50961294-87-01-250) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
