We purchased it because we had bought my son a small wooden Thomas track, and we wanted to add to it. The KidKraft set seemed to be a better value, and it definitely fits with the Thomas wooden railway. My son mostly uses his wooden Thomas trains on it.....not so much the trains that came with the KidKraft set. The Bucket Top set is pretty cool. It comes with a lot of smaller pieces, which my son isn't quite interested in using just yet. I think he'll like those other parts when he gets a bit older (he's 3 now). **Q: How is this shipped? In its own box or in an Amazon box? This will be a present.** A: We purchased this as a gift & it was shipped out of state. Because it's a self-contained set, more than likely it was inside an Amazon box. BTW, the lid is part of the tacks (a mountain). I can tell you that the train set was a BIG hit. We bought it for our Great Granddaughter & she loves it. She (6 years old) & her little sister (3 years old) have been playing with it since last December.
