Review: Great PC Case with Room for Customization! - I recently upgraded to the Hyte Y40 case, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! This case is not only spacious, allowing for excellent airflow and easy cable management, but it also has a sleek design that looks fantastic on my desk. The size is just perfect for my build, accommodating all my components without feeling cramped. One of the standout features for me is the noise level. Even with the fans running at full speed, the case remains surprisingly quiet, which is a huge plus for my gaming sessions. The fan quality is impressive; they do a great job of keeping my system cool without being overly loud. However, I did wish it came with RGB lighting, so I took the liberty of installing my own, which added a nice personal touch to the overall aesthetic. Overall, the Hyte Y40 is a fantastic PC case that combines functionality and style. If you’re looking for a reliable case with room for customization, I highly recommend it! Five stars all the way! Review: In spite of the negative reviews this case is awesome - I watched a lot of negative reviews on this case on youtube before buying it. But I just want to give credit to this case where in my opinion it is greatly deserved. I ran 3d mark stress test (speedway) on my cpu a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, cooled by a Deep Cool LS 720 liquid AIO, and my cpu temps never rose above 44 C in this case. The GPU temps rose to about an avg of 64 C, which is a little hotter than other cases but I credit that rise to the vertically mounted GPU which puts the fans closer to the case side wall, but still within what I would call normal temps. I would also mention I ran a multithreaded cpu stress test in cpuid, and temps did not exceed 77 C at 100% utilization. I did add two 140mm fans for intake, and a slim 120mm fan for exaust due to the AIO cooler being a bit too long to fit the default 120mm fan but I planned on doing that anyway because I wanted ARGB fans. Those were the only complaints people had about the case on youtube, and they completely wrote the case off. For another 50 bucks or so for the 140mm fans this case is awesome. I really enjoy the look of the glass sides, and it does not seem to be too hot given you have adequate intake and exaust. There are access holes everywhere and there is lots of room for all my components and it really fits my Radeon RX 6800XT well from xfx which is a beast of a card and very long indeed. You really can't go wrong with this case and in my opinion by far the look, form and functionality beats any other case out there hands down. I have heard good things about the Liam Li Case, but I personally did not like the looks of that case in the same price range as this. ## Features - Y40 delivers upgraded performance, compatibility, and aesthetics that expand on Y60’s exclusive vertical graphics card architecture - An included PCIE40 4.0 Luxury Riser Cable supports the latest and greatest graphics cards and its canopy is color-matched with your Y40 color choice (just like the Y60). - 2x120mm fans are pre-installed: one beneath the power supply shroud and one at the rear. - Features a robust cable management strategy with cable management spaces and tie downs behind the motherboard shelf and within the power supply shroud. - Y40’s side mount can fit up to a 280mm radiator with a combined thickness of up to 120mm allowing for large 60mm plus radiators to be used for custom loop builds. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0BQP93GYX | | Antenna Location | Gaming | | Best Sellers Rank | #344 in Computer Cases | | Brand | HYTE | | Built-In Media | Item | | Case Type | Mid Tower | | Color | White | | Compatible Devices | ATX, mATX, ITX motherboards, graphics cards up to 422mm, liquid cooling radiators up to 280mm, 3.5" and 2.5" storage drives | | Cooling Method | Air | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 318 Reviews | | Enclosure Material | Tempered Glass | | Fan Size | 12 centimeters | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00848604044279 | | Hard Disk Form Factor | 3.5 inches | | Internal Bays Quantity | 2 | | Item Dimensions D x W x H | 17.3"D x 9.4"W x 18.6"H | | Item Weight | 19 pounds | | Light Color | RGB | | Manufacturer | HYTE | | Material | Tempered Glass | | Mfr Part Number | CS-HYTE-Y40-BW | | Model Name | Y40 | | Model Number | CS-HYTE-Y40-BW | | Motherboard Compatability | ATX | | Number of Fans | 2 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Other Special Features of the Product | Vertical Graphics Card Architecture, PCIE 4.0 Riser Cable | | Power Supply Mounting Type | Bottom Mount | | Recommended Uses For Product | Gaming | | Supported Motherboard | ATX | | Total Expansion Slots Quantity | 4 | | Total USB 3.0 Ports | 1 | | UPC | 848604044279 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 3 Year Case Manufacturer Warranty | ## Product Details - **Brand:** HYTE - **Case Type:** Mid Tower - **Color:** White - **Cooling Method:** Air - **Fan Size:** 12 centimeters - **Material:** Tempered Glass - **Model Name:** Y40 - **Motherboard Compatability:** ATX - **Power Supply Mounting Type:** Bottom Mount - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Gaming ## Images ![Hyte Y40 Modern Aesthetic Panoramic Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX Computer Gaming Case with PCIE 4.0 Riser Cable Included, White (CS-HYTE-Y40-BW) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71BiW5p1+uL.jpg) ![Hyte Y40 Modern Aesthetic Panoramic Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX Computer Gaming Case with PCIE 4.0 Riser Cable Included, White (CS-HYTE-Y40-BW) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71RWJUkUPLL.jpg) ![Hyte Y40 Modern Aesthetic Panoramic Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX Computer Gaming Case with PCIE 4.0 Riser Cable Included, White (CS-HYTE-Y40-BW) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81p5QBJvoNL.jpg) ![Hyte Y40 Modern Aesthetic Panoramic Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX Computer Gaming Case with PCIE 4.0 Riser Cable Included, White (CS-HYTE-Y40-BW) - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71E6epfswhL.jpg) ![Hyte Y40 Modern Aesthetic Panoramic Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX Computer Gaming Case with PCIE 4.0 Riser Cable Included, White (CS-HYTE-Y40-BW) - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71YG2sbx-TL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Does this support 420mm radiator mounted on the top?** A: This will NOT support 420mm radiator on top. It can support either 140mm or 280mm radiator on top if using 140mm fans. It can support either 120mm, 240mm or 360mm on top if using 120mm fans. **Q: Can a gpu be horizontally mounted?** A: No, this case is designed to fit only the small horizonal expansion cards. A fullsize gpu can only fit vertically. **Q: Tell me which computer case is better to buy hyte y60 or lian li li pc-o11 dynamic evo?** A: There both pretty similar the o11 is a little more versatile in that you can do air or water cooling. You really want to only do water cooling in the y60 as the design does not lend itself well to air cooling. The advantage of the y60 is that it comes with a pcie riser cable for vertically mounting the gpu, something lian li charges extra for. Both cases are about on par with water cooling, but after accessories, including extra fans, are purchased the o11 ends up costing about a hundred dollars more. **Q: Does it come with any fans?** A: 3 fans, 2 bottom and one back exhaust ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great PC Case with Room for Customization! *by A***T on March 9, 2025* I recently upgraded to the Hyte Y40 case, and I couldn't be happier with my choice!
