I have a very tame Alexandrine and found: Can it be chewed through? Not easily. When it became clear I was going to shelve the item I gave it to him to chew apart but even with the main springy cord under tension he didn't seem to be able to slice through. Is the harness itself secure? Yes..when correctly fitted. Is it easy to put on? I found the Alexs long wings tricky to tuck through the loop, but I got it on in 20 secs on the first go. Theres a nack to it and you really need to get it right and smooth first time or you will stress the bird. Does the bird like it? Each to their own. My bird seemed claustrophobic in it...the main reason I shelved it. Any other issues? I didn't like the way the long 'springy cord' attached to the harness...it seemed a very superficial splice connection. I also don't like the other end of the whole set up being loosely attached to my wrist. I did a few test runs in the house and didn't feel confident enough to go outside. It really didn't seem worth the risk and the more the bird 'noticed' the harness the fun drained away. I got a few hours sulking and the next time I tried the harness he fought against it. I know plenty of people who use this harness daily and swear by it. It is a GOOD buy, clever, well made and one of the best ways of achieving the purpose..... but as I said originally, it's something you should buy on the basis of quite a bit of research.
