My wife and I in our 70's have tripped over this gate several time over the last 2 years but the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak is when I tripped and was in Trama care for 4 days with a broken bone in my neck and severe soft tissue damage. My wife got rid of the little, short gate and I bought this one. What I liked was the little door at the bottom for the cat but was still afraid the dogs would go through it because the cat is bigger than they are. I made the opening for the cat small as I could and she slides right thru it like it's not there. The Yorkie tried but got stuck and the Chihuahua saw this and it too afraid to go thru. I love the fact that after installing you don't have to worry about it moving back and forth, once installed it stays put.
